Knowledge of the Field refers to the specific content (or subject matter) and skills that are learned and applied in specific fields and occupations such as the environment, education, public safety, human needs, and health.
The Volunteer Management Competencies themselves represent a unique body of knowledge, derived and adapted from the fields of management, leadership, human resources management, community development, and organizational development in combination with the unique knowledge used to recruit and retain volunteers.
