Ethics Scenarios
The two scenarios on the following pages simulate actual events involving volunteers. They conclude with a series of questions for you to consider as you identify the ethical dilemmas and how they were addressed by the protagonists.
Using the “core ethical values” as guidelines, we have included an analysis of both scenarios as an example of one interpretation of the described events. You may have another, which may be just as legitimate.
It is worth finding opportunities to discuss these scenarios with your peers as the different points of view provide additional dimensions to the work of the volunteer manager.
