He has been CEO of People First –Total Solutions since October 2003. Over the course of the next year, she will be working on Project INVEST to help address the need for accessible volunteer management training in a variety of formats across Maine.

Maryalice Crofton has been the chief staff person for the Maine Commission for Community Service since 1996. Prior to that she served as grant program officer at the Commission and had previously spent 15 years as the leader of three nonprofit organizations that were heavily dependent on volunteers for service delivery. In her current role, Crofton has served on national committees for state service commissions as well as a leader for major national projects.

Trudy Hamilton is the Manager of Volunteer Resources for SeniorsPlus in Lewiston, Maine. Prior to that, she was a Membership and Marketing Manager for Girl Scouts of Kennebec Council for 5 years, after serving on a local Girl Scout Service Team for several years. During that time, she consistently increased the volunteer base in western Maine, and their capacity to serve girls. She holds a bachelor’s degree in secondary education, and recently obtained the credential of Certified in Volunteer Administration (CVA). She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Association of Leaders in Volunteer Engagement (AL!VE) as Treasurer, and is active in the Portland Association of Volunteer Administrators (PAVA). She is also active with the VolunteerMaine.org VISTA project, and owns Western Maine Consultants. Trudy resides in her hometown of South Paris, with her family, including her chocolate Labrador retriever, Spirit.

Jennifer Lobley has worked for the University of Maine Cooperative Extension for the past nine years. In addition to her Extension Educator role in Washington and Hancock County where she works with over 100 4-H volunteers, she is the statewide 4-H Program Coordinator for Maine. She has a Masters of Science in Elementary Education. Last year she completed her Certification in Volunteer Administration, and worked extensively on the development of the National Framework for 4-H Volunteerism. She recently returned from a six-month sabbatical looking at the use of web-based learning with 4-H volunteers around the country.

Susan Jennings, Extension Educator has a MS Degree in Educational Administration and a BS Degree in Education and the Arts. Susan is currently an Extension Educator working with the 4-H Youth Development program in Oxford County, including administration for the University of Maine 4-H Camp and Learning Center at Bryant Pond, 4-H clubs, community programs and school initiatives. Program work includes identifying and responding to youth development needs and community issues; designing, implementing and evaluating educational programs. Susan has been involved with youth and adult service learning partnerships and leadership projects for over the past 15 years.

Michelle Martin is a recent University of Maine Honors graduate in the field of Anthropology. She has joined the Bodwell Center staff as an Americorps*VISTA for the 2009-2010 membership through the Communities for Children and Youth Americorps program. She works as a part of the Youth and Families Team directing efforts for the new thrift store and food cupboard on-campus, The Black Bear Exchange, and The Black Bear Mentor program, pairing college students with local youth for a meaningful relationships. Michelle has been a volunteer since childhood, understands the college student volunteer, and manages volunteer efforts in our Maine communities. She enjoys gardening, outdoor activities, and identifying wild plants.

Ryan Bouchard is a recent graduate of the University of Maine with a degree in Psychology. He has joined the Bodwell Center staff as an Americorps*VISTA through Maine Campus Compact. He is charged with lessening poverty by engaging college students and institutions of higher education through creative programming for active citizenship development. He works with volunteer programs including the direction of our weekly Civic Passage program, annual volunteer events, and supporting faculty in service-learning efforts. He has thorough knowledge of the UMaine Greek system giving him essential experience with the majority of the college student volunteer population.

Fran Rudoff is the Executive Director of KIDS Consortium. Based in Auburn, KIDS Consortium prepares young people to be active and responsible citizens by training and supporting educators, community organizations, and youth in best practices for service-learning. Fran also advocates for civic learning and engagement at the state and national levels, having served on the Maine Legislature’s Citizenship Education Study Commission, Maine’s Task Force on Citizenship Education (supported by the national Campaign for the Civic Mission of Schools), the Maine Social Studies Professional Development Network, and the National Service-Learning Partnership.
