    • 66% have a 4 year or other advanced degree.
    • 21% had some college experience.
    • 36% were not residents of Maine when they began service.
    • Of non-Maine residents 17% plan to stay in Maine to work . While another 25% plan to stay in Maine to serve another year in AmeriCorps.
    • 60% of members volunteered in the community in addition to their AmeriCorps volunteer service.

What AmeriCorps Members Gain
82% of AmeriCorps members indicated they improved in a number of areas including; learning new technical skills, planning for a career, creating work-life balance, and gaining a greater understanding of the work pertaining to their service area.

Nearly 90% of members learned through service how to meet new challenges and took responsibility for assuring work quality, safety, and results.
